There is an entity called the Auction House, also known as the House. The House can own items and holds the weekly Auction. The weekly Auction can hold a number of House Lots and a number of Player Lots. Lots can be bid on by players. If a player wins a bid on a lot, the House gives the items in that Lot to the winning player. If there is ever a Lot that does not contain any items, that Lot is removed from the Auction House.

A House Lot is a Lot that can contain 3 cards. If, at any time during the Resolution Phase, the number of House Lots currently in the weekly Auction is less than the Participation value of the Auction Casino, any player may generate a new House Lot by generating 3 cards to fulfill that lot.

 

Player Lots are Lots that can be created in the Auction House by a player. During the Resolution Phase a player may create a Player Lot in the Auction House by giving one or more of their items to the House and designating that they belong in a Player Lot. Items in Player Lots are considered to still be owned by the player that created that Lot for the purposes of wealth calculations. A player may retrieve the items from one of the Player Lots they created during the Resolution Phase, so long as there are no Secret Bid Actions awaiting their revelation date. If a Player Lot is won at the Auction House, then a number of chips equal to the value of the winning bid is transferred from the player that placed the winning bid to the player that created the Player Lot.
