Info[edit | edit source]
The Infinite Nomic Embassy is a cycle of Infinite Nomic tasked with upkeep of relations with other internet Nomics and Nomic-like games.
When a person takes an action defined by this ruleset they become a player of this round.
Embassy Proposals[edit | edit source]
An Embassy proposal is a body of text specifying one or more changes to the Embassy ruleset (except for Policy rules). Any person can submit an Embassy proposal by submitting its full contents to the channel #embassy.
Unless otherwise specified by a different part of the Embassy ruleset, the voting period for an Embassy proposal lasts 72 hours after the Embassy proposal has been submitted. At the end of an Embassy proposal's voting period, each player who has a reaction of :+1: on the proposal message is considered to have voted for it, and each player who has a reaction of :-1: against. If a player's vote is unclear, their vote is considered to be against.
Once the voting term of an Embassy proposal had passed, if at least two thirds of votes on that Embassy proposal are for it and the message in which it was submitted has been neither edited nor deleted, it takes effect. Unless otherwise specified by the Embassy ruleset (except for Policy rules), the effects of Embassy proposals are limited to immediately modifying the ruleset.
Embassy proposals are the only method by which the Embassy ruleset can be modified.
Relations Councils[edit | edit source]
The Relations Council for a game is the group of players that are tasked with keeping relations with that game and participating in that game in any official capacity that ambassadors can act in that game. Players may join and leave existing Relations Councils at will by stating that they do so in #embassy.
Outreach Proposals[edit | edit source]
An Outreach proposal is an Embassy proposal which, instead of describing a set of changes to apply to the ruleset, describes a new Relations Council. It must include a public link to the game for which the Relations Council will be created and should describe the game it would create the council for and how it is an internet Nomic or Nomic-like game.
Once an Outreach proposal is enacted, the Relations Council it describes is created.
Policies[edit | edit source]
Policies are rules which are associated with a particular Relations Council and describe actions which players of Infinite Nomic can be taken with respect to the game its associated Relations Council is for as well as processes relevant to that game that must be done on the side of Infinite Nomic. Policies for each game are stored on their own wikipage separate from the rules of the cycle. Tracking of any gamestate defined within the Policies for each game should be done in its own wikipage.
A Policy proposal is an Embassy proposal which describes changes to Policy rules associated with one Relations Council, including creation, amendment, and deletion of Policy rules associated with that Relations Council. Policy proposal can also describe arbitrary changes to gamestate defined by said Policy rules. Policy rules only need a simple majority of votes in favor to pass, and only votes from members of the Relations Council it is for are counted.
